Those are just few lines from the outstanding “Snowbird” fashion film by independent director Sean Baker. We loved at so many levels that we recommend everyone, not only fashion lovers, to watch it. Just a little piece of advice: don’t watch it when on a strict diet cause as soon as you finish it, you’ll probably need to run to the nearest bakery and buy the biggest cake with the best frosted icing.
Those are just few lines from the outstanding “Snowbird” fashion film by independent director Sean Baker. After releasing the groundbreaking movie Tangerine, he teamed up with Kenzo to write and direct a delicate and moving 11-minutes video which features Kenzo’s spring 2016 collection. And it seems he just never disappoints.
As his first movie, “Snowbird” was shot entirely on an iPhone, in the dreamlike location of Sonoran Desert, California. Scenography is naturally beautiful and evocative but we must say that desert campground Slab City hits you with its messed up vitality.
Script is about a young woman (Abbey Lee Kershaw) wandering through the trailer park she lives in, paying a visit to the other residents of the community. She shares with them a delicious looking cake, few words and some company, exploring the meaning of community as well as her identity.
Actors, either the professional or the real people playing themselves, are great in delivering some sort of bigger sense of truth, authenticity and freedom.
